Services Offered by the Miami Beach Fire Prevention Division

Providing a wide range of services, the Miami Beach Fire Prevention Division works to provide safety and protection for the community. These services include emergency medical services, fire protection, and disaster management. Dedicated to providing the community with the highest levels of professionalism, the department serves the city with the greatest care.

The department also offers services to prevent property damage and reduce injuries. The Fire Prevention Division works to maintain the equipment to its maximum performance and evaluates how to improve the way it provides services. It also interacts with fire departments and fire equipment manufacturers to identify equipment that can save lives and minimize property losses. It also conducts an annual hose-testing program and inspects equipment to ensure its safe operation.

In addition, the department also responds to emergencies involving hazardous materials and technical rescue. These services include trench/excavation rescue, rope rescue, and confined space rescue. The department also responds to EMS calls, including cardiac arrest.

The department also provides quality assurance programs, health-safety courses, and advanced training for paramedics. It also provides comprehensive pre-hospital care 24 hours a day. Founded in 1975, the department has become a vital component of daily activities in the city. The department’s administration division focuses on planning and leadership. The department also participates in national programs, legislative efforts, and public awareness campaigns to increase safety in the community.

The department has a rapid response vehicle staffed with highly trained paramedics who are capable of handling non-transport emergencies. The department also operates under service agreements with other fire departments, providing automatic aid to them.
