Evans began in law enforcement before he went into private security. He graduated from the Suffolk County Sheriff's Academy and also completed the National Park Service law enforcement academy, a Department of Veterans Affairs federal law enforcement training center, the Indian River Criminal Justice Academy and other agency academies.

He has taken more than fifty specialized courses of roughly eight to six hundred hours each, including sniper and counter-sniper work, close-quarter combat, SWAT tactics, hostage negotiation, defensive tactics instructor training, drug recognition expert training and advanced robbery and homicide investigation.

Evans trained in interview and interrogation methods taught by Wicklander-Zulawski and by agencies that teach the Reid technique, and he has worked as a contract interviewer. He also developed a human intelligence interrogation approach known as the Evans Method, which select government agencies have used.

Evans founded USPA Nationwide Security in Baiting Hollow, New York in 2005 and built it into a contractor network operating across the United States and abroad. He led the company as founder and chief executive for sixteen years, working in the field alongside his teams.

In 2021 he stepped down as chief executive. Daniel Manning leads the company today, and Evans serves as Founder and Strategic Advisor.

From 2005 to 2019 Evans ran BlueLine Capital, an initiative that helped returning military veterans and retired law enforcement professionals start their own security firms. The program combined training, mentoring and financial and business support.

Kingsman Philanthropic Corp. provides pro bono investigative help to the families of missing and trafficked women and girls. Evans founded it and has worked cases personally, often without charge, and he continued that work through his own surgeries and recoveries.

Forbes covered the company's rescue work and its free assistance to domestic violence victims in March 2020. In 2022 USPA announced a pledge of one million dollars a year toward locating missing children. Case details stay confidential to protect the families involved.

Kingsman is a private nonprofit.

When the pandemic closed businesses in 2020, USPA went sixty consecutive days without a sale. During that stretch Evans started a food delivery program for single mothers and their families. Volunteers were reached through Facebook, and groceries and meals were delivered through Uber Eats and grocery services in several parts of the country. The program asked no questions of the people it served. EntrepreneurMindz interviewed Evans about the effort.

Evans funded this program and missing-girl investigations partly with proceeds from an Economic Injury Disaster Loan.

He has helped organize evacuations and rescues during major floods, hurricanes, wars and civil unrest. USPA provided free evacuation help during Hurricane Ian in 2022 and mounted an emergency security response to flooding in Charleston.

Evans transferred a branch office in India, as Forbes reported, and has given away much of his personal wealth and business assets over his lifetime.

Evans created Lax Mafia as a nonprofit youth lacrosse program in the United States, meant to keep boys involved in sport and in constructive personal development.

He later extended the program to Uganda, with a focus on girls, education and pathways to university. Evans funded the Uganda program, and some participants went on to play college lacrosse in the United States.

In 2021 Evans received a medical diagnosis that changed his life. He has since had a number of major surgeries and long recoveries, including a major operation while he was writing the adult edition of Elara, followed by months of rest. The writing and the missing-person work continued through that period.

Evans has been writing books since 2006. His published books are The Real Matrix (2015), Borrowed Theme (2017), The REAL Matrix Reloaded (2025), Elara (2026) and two children's stories, Little Elara: A Story for Brave Little Hearts and Little Elara: The Magic of the Butterfly Garden, with Chinese, Hindi and Korean editions of several titles. Evans's video channel draws mainly women readers and viewers in Asia, interested in his books, reflection, rest and personal advice. Seoul Shinmun gave the subscriber count as 3.29 million in June 2026, Nagaland Mirror reported more than 3.6 million in August 2026, and the channel passed 3.7 million subscribers in October 2026. The channel's most popular videos include the official Elara trailer with 4.1 million views, a Matrix-themed short with 12 million views and a multilingual audio series of The REAL Matrix in English, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Spanish and Ukrainian.

In 2023 he appeared in the French television program 50' Inside, which documented protection work for high-profile clients.

Evans now spends his days on case research and field work, desk-based missing-person investigations and, where a case turns that way, review of cold homicides. He writes, produces multilingual audio and book editions, and manages his channel and its audience.
