NEW YORK, N.Y.

USPA Nationwide Security has appointed Michael Evans Jr. Associate Manager, Maritime Operations, expanding his responsibilities within the company's maritime security division.

Evans is based in New York and coordinates patrol assignments that bring together company personnel, regional field operators and vessel captains. His responsibilities extend to maritime work in Miami, Los Angeles and Houston.

From boat handler to management

The appointment follows Evans's progression through a series of operational positions at USPA. He began as a Boat Handler Intern, advanced to Boat Handler, and later served as First Mate. Work inside vessel crews gave him direct exposure to how maritime assignments are staffed, briefed and reported, which is the basis of the coordination work he now performs.

In the position he holds, Evans works with field personnel and vessel captains to assemble maritime patrol assignments across different operating environments. The role involves liaison between regional teams, an understanding of vessel operating requirements and the allocation of personnel to protective assignments.

College coursework and maritime training

His preparation combines college coursework with specialized maritime education. Evans attended Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, where he studied criminal justice and cybersecurity for 2 years. He then moved to Maritime Professional Training in Fort Lauderdale for his maritime studies.

His completed training covers Maritime Engineering, the Able Seafarer Course, RIB Master and Powerboat, Personal Safety and Social Responsibility, Personal Survival Techniques, basic fire-fighting, and First Aid and CPR. The coursework addressed vessel operations, maritime engineering, seamanship and onboard emergency procedures. Time aboard vessels and his advancement to First Mate inform the coordination work he now carries out.

A professional record of his own

Evans is the son of Michael Evans, who founded USPA Nationwide Security in New York in 2005 and served as the company's chief executive until 2021. The younger Evans has built his own record inside the maritime division, moving through operational positions before taking on management responsibilities.

USPA's maritime security services in New York sit within a broader protective practice that includes assignments at waterfront facilities, maritime infrastructure and vessel-related security.

The company operates nationally under Chief Executive Officer Daniel Manning, with founder Michael Evans continuing as a strategic advisor.

Evans remains based in New York while coordinating with USPA personnel and vessel captains on maritime assignments across the company's regional operations. His professional record documents the positions he has held and the training he has completed.
